Researchers noted that supplemental biotin (20g for a 500kg horse and up to 30g for a 600kg + horse) resulted in improvements in new horse growth, (but had little effect on already poor quality or damaged horn), with positive results noted at the coronary band recorded after several weeks of supplementation. Further research demonstrated the importance of sulphur in helping to form the double- bonds securing the tubules, to result in a strong and healthy hoof wall. Bio-available sulphur is provided both from the sulphur-containing amino acids, including methionine, and also from MSM (methyl sulphonyl methane) in Super Hoof Plus Pellets.
