Ostlers is a family run business here in North Devon.  they pride ourselves on being the original British Cider Vinegar with “The Mother” to supply the health food market.

Ostlers Cloudy Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is produced from a blend of our Ostlers Orchard Apples and carefully selected locally sourced apples from like-minded, Devonshire farmers. Our Cloudy ACV is made naturally and allowed to mature slowly, giving it a rich and smooth apple flavour.

A superior vinegar all on its own, it can also be used for all your pickling, dressings, vinaigrettes, sauces, and cooking needs. ACV is also commonly used as a natural cleaner and disinfectant.

Ostlers Cider Organic Cider Vinegar discovered the unique health benefits of raw, organic apple cider vinegar (ACV) with ‘The Mother’, way back in the 80’s when our founder first realised it significantly eased his arthritis pain. 

Since then, people everywhere have tapped into the natural, gut-friendly bacteria in ‘The Mother’ –  which forms due to the fact our vinegar is still raw. This means it is still ‘live’, and when it’s grown in the right conditions you will literally see it grow! Our vinegar stays unfiltered and unpasteurised, preserving its healthful qualities.

Ostlers Cider Organic Cider Vinegar have received multiple awards over the years – most notably, at The Houses Of Parliament, London, from the Green Apple Organisation for ‘Environmental Best Practice’!

They also won a DEBI Environment Business Award ‘Made In Devon’, and were a finalist in the ‘Sustainable Ethos’ category.

Ostlers Cider Organic Cider Vinegar have been recognised year on year by the ‘Taste of the West’ (TOTW) award. TOTW is the largest independent regional food group in the UK, so we’re thrilled that our cider vinegar has been recognised so consistently!

Ostlers was converted to Organic with the Organic Farmers and Growers in 2014, and has been certified Organic every year since, so you know you’re getting the best quality cider we can produce.

Ostlers Cider Organic Cider Vinegar put our success in the cider vinegar world down to an old family recipe, a special blend of Devonshire apples, and being one of the few rare orchards where the whole process is completed naturally. It’s a constant process of tasting, blending, and checking fermentation quality.
