Nestled away in the North Devon countryside on the outskirts of a charming village called Chittlehampton you will find a unique organic working farm. By using their own shire horses to work the land they produce their very own stoneground organic flour made from ancient grains.
We want to share the flavour of this stoneground organic flour made from ancient grains with you. They have grown the varieties of Squarehead Master and YQ. Their mixed farm which includes cattle and a bed and breakast business, where guest who stay in our 12th century farmhouse or glamping railway carriage.
Higher Biddacott Farm's organic flour is stoneground slowly to not damage the protein and bring you delicious, nutritious, flavoursome flour. Their philosophy is to use methods that will not damage the soil but to work with the environment leaving an improved ecosystem, for the next generation to work with.
Flour by Horsepower is a wholemeal artisan flour, perfect for bread making or sift out some of the bran for a lighter flour. Ideally use 70/30 ratio for bread or 50/50 for delicious soda bread. It is perfect for naan breads, savoury scones and pizza bases.
