Bombers Bits Eggbutt Elliptical Lock Up
The Eggbutt cheekpiece prevents pinching of the lips and give a slightly more solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower and also introduces some poll pressure. The Elliptical Lock Up is a double break bit with a "locked" lozenge in the center. It is stronger than the Control Plate due to it having a smaller surface area. Consequently, a horse using his tongue as a means of pushing against the bit and therefore taking control, will draw back and tuck his chin in, coming back to a better point of control.
Our pony bits feature cheekpieces that are a ¾ scale version of our standard bits.
By Locking up the Elliptical joint, it removes any nutcracker action, meaning it will bear less pressure on the horse's bars. It in turn applies more tongue pressure than the Ported Kernel making it a stronger bit.
About Bomber Bits
Bombers Equestrian Equipment supply a range of quality equine products worldwide. Bomber Bits specialise in horse sport disciplines and bitting and have an ever growing range.
Bombers Bits use a system of colour coded mouthpieces to help you select the right bit for your horse. Each category gives the symptoms that horses display and the mouthpieces that have been designed to deal with with those symptoms. The most common mouthpieces in each category are highlighted and underlined. By clicking on the colour coded categories in the menu you expand the menu to show mouthpieces that are designed to deal with that symptom. Selecting a specific mouthpiece from the menu you are presented with all bits having that mouthpiece. You can further narrow your search by selecting, from the menu, a discipline which will give you the bit options for the mouthpiece and discipline selected.
